Our mission is to offer you the best coops, the best hens and the best value for money - our goal is to promote self-sufficiency, slow food and organics and a return to the basics of who we are.
Hello from Cormac Stone
Born into a shop in Co. Limerick, I began my career serving at the counter from a very young age and by the time I left home to study Business and Marketing in Cork CIT aged tender eighteen, I had ten years of customer and retail experience.
I began computer programming in secondary school on an IBM the size of a bus with a tiny green screen and over the years developed my web design and digital marketing abilities, and have published numerous websites. However after my studies, I followed my father into construction and worked there for 20 years until full circle, in 2009 the boom went bust.
So, in early 2009 all my past experience and expertise simply gelled together and I realised that my life-long hobby of keeping chickens was the way forward - welcome to Urban Chicken Coops. For me, it's not just business, it's about self sufficiency and consumer ethics after a decade of excess and about going back to who we are and where we come from.
